Onuigbo Lauds Tinubu’s Commitment To Southeast Development

The South East Development Commission (SEDC), according to former lawmaker Sam Onuigbo, was established as a sign of President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the inclusive development of the South East region Post Civil war.


Onuigbo, a member of the House of Representatives, was responding to Tinubu’s signing of the South East Development Commission Bill.

Onuigbo praised Rep. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, for seeing to it that the measure was passed in a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday


He announced that the commission would be in charge of monitoring the region’s overall development and growth.


House members from the South East were also complimented by the member representing them on the North East Development Commission for co-sponsoring the bill.

He went on to say that the action showed a sincere commitment to tackling the region’s insecurity as well as the deteriorating infrastructure that had long afflicted it.


He praised Kalu for his outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to the South East’s development.

He said that the launch and execution of the Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P) was the first instance of this.


The South East Development Commission (SEDC) Establishment Bill was co-sponsored by Kalu and other South East legislators in the House of legislators, as the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) remembers.


The federation account is supposed to provide funds for the South East region’s development. (NAN)
