ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI'S VICTORY AT THE POLLS: ABIRIBA OBI-DIENT & LABOUR PARTY SUPPORT GROUP CELEBRATES.

The Abiriba OBI-dient & Labour Party Support Group ably led by Chief Leslie Ebueme Ezikpe (Dike Eji Eje Mba - Oga Ndi Oga) celebrated with Labour Party Leaders, Local Government and Ward Executives of the Party, and hundreds of passionate members & supporters of the Movement at the Country-Home of Chief Jackson Agbai-Bob (Kukunda of Abiriba).


The venue and event was electrifying as the occasion recreated the jubilant moment when Dr. Alex Chioma Otti was declared winner of the Election and Governor-Elect of Abia State signalling the liberation of the State from the 24 years shackle and bondage of the Abia PDP and her Agents.



The Host and Deputy Leader of the Movement Chief Jackson Agbai-Bob (Kukunda of Abiriba) while delivering the welcome address, reminisced the journey of Ndi Abiriba insistence on Good Governance from the days of Governor Orji Uzor Kalu and the Otu-Onu Movement in 2003 till 2015 APGA battle against Governor T. A. Orji when Abiriba was designated as the headquarters of the opposition.


He appreciated the gathering for remaining steadfast in the struggle for the liberation of Abia State. Chief Jackson urged the gathering to place public good (The ongoing transformation in Aba and Umuahia including the new look of Ohafia LGA Secretariat) over and above private interest (The clamour for appointments by cynics from the last administration). He encouraged them to continue exercising patience as he assured that the Executive Governor, Dr. Alex Otti (OFR) have not forgotten their years of sacrifices and the leading role of the Community in organising and launching the first Community-driven Obidient Movement and Labour Party Million-Man Rally and Road-Walk in the Federation which took the awareness of the Movement to the grassroots. Chief Jackson appreciated everyone present and ask them to continue to mobilize support for the New Government in Abia State.



The highpoint of the event was the recognition of members who exhibited outstanding commitment to the struggle. The following exceptional members were recognised; Late Mr. John Kalu Ukala, Chief Steven Abba Omenka, Odudu Woman, Comrade Obiaruko Agbanyim and Mr. Martin Kalu. Late Mr. John Kalu Ukala popularly known as AG Salar was recognised Post-Humously for his passionate sacrifices to the course of the Movement and his closing down his business in Aba and relocating to Abiriba to coordinate the Mobilization efforts in Abiriba and Nkporo.


A minute of silence was observed in his honour. The family of Late John were given the sum of One Million One Hundred Thousand Naira (N1,100.000.00) contributed and donated by stakeholders of Obidient Support Group to support his Children's Education and to support his aged mother. They were assured that their father's sacrifices will not be in vain as the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti is justifying the mandate of the people.



The Ward Chairmen and Party Executives in the 3 wards were mandated to embark on membership registration with an assurance that the Obidient Support Group will pay the registration fees of all New members registered in the Party. The Secretary of the Movement Dr. Leo Ogba re-assured the Party Executive of the readiness of the Stakeholders to help them succeed.


The Secretary to the Local Government (SecLog Ohafia LGA) represented the Mayor of Ohafia LGA Chief David Ogba Onuoha who was unavoidably absent. He assured the gathering of the commitment and passion of the Mayor to leave a transformational imprints of performance during his time as Mayor of Ohafia LGA graciously made possible by His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti. He urged Ndi Abiriba to continue supporting the Executive Governor and his Boss, the Mayor of Ohafia LGA.


Gift items such as Rice and salt donated by stakeholders of the Obidient Support Group were distributed.
