Honouring the Truth: Giving Credit Where It’s Due
In a democracy, transparency and accountability are essential for ensuring that governance serves the people. It is equally important to give honor to whom honor is due, recognizing those responsible for progress and development. This principle holds true, especially in the case of Federal Government projects spearheaded by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recently, discussions surrounding infrastructure development in Abia State have highlighted the need for clarity between state and federal initiatives. While acknowledging the efforts of the state government, it is crucial to recognize that certain key projects, like the Abia Airport, are federal undertakings driven by the APC-led administration.
Federal Projects Are for Everyone, but Credit Matters
The Abia Airport project is a shining example of the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing regional infrastructure gaps, particularly in the South-East. It is a testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of inclusive development. However, some individuals, including followers of opposition movements like Ellu P, appear to lack a clear understanding of the distinction between state and federal responsibilities.
We must educate and inform, not to provoke division, but to ensure that accurate information reaches the people. Federal projects are funded and executed through the dedication of national leadership, and it is only fair to credit the APC for its role in such transformative efforts.
APC: Delivering on Promises
The APC has consistently worked to fulfill its campaign promises, focusing on development across all regions of Nigeria. In the South-East, projects like the Abia Airport are proof of the APC’s commitment to bridging regional disparities. While it is commendable for the state government to collaborate and support federal initiatives, the people deserve to know who is driving these monumental changes.
Setting the Record Straight
Misinformation breeds division, and we cannot allow inaccurate narratives to overshadow the truth. Opposition voices may seek to claim credit for federal projects, but the APC will not remain silent. We will continue to highlight the achievements of our party at the federal level and ensure that the public is aware of the contributions made by the Tinubu-led administration.
Collaborating for the People
This is not about discrediting any stakeholder but about fostering a culture of honesty and collaboration. Both state and federal governments must work hand in hand to deliver progress to the people. However, collaboration does not mean misattribution. The APC takes pride in its efforts to elevate the lives of Nigerians, and it is important that these efforts are recognized.
Truth Over Partisanship
At the heart of governance lies the need to put people first, and that includes being truthful about who is responsible for developmental strides. The APC remains committed to driving progress and ensuring that Nigerians benefit from quality governance.
As we move forward, let us continue to honor those who deserve credit, work collectively for the good of the people, and stand firm against attempts to distort the truth. Progress is a shared victory, but recognition is a matter of justice. #OnyeaniKalu stakeholder #APCABIASTATE
